today’s workout (W5D2) from c25k: brisk five-minute warmup walk. then jog 8 minutes, walk 5 minutes, jog 8 minutes.

thoughts: oh boy. today was tough, particularly the first set. i had a
little voice in my head during the first set saying “you can take a walk, just for a few steps, think how much easier it’ll be.” and while it was exceptionally tempting, i didn’t. instead i slowed down to a practically glacial pace and just kept at it. and i am so thrilled. this isn’t easy for me and it’s such a fantastic feeling when i’m done and did what i was supposed to do.
i’m grateful the holidays are over. while it’s been nice to have guests and spend time making and eating delicious things, it’s nice to have real food again. last night’s dinner was shrimp salad, which was a very welcome change.
not looking forward to W5D3, but i must remember, we cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are.
