today’s workout (W4D2) from c25k: brisk five-minute warmup walk, then jog 3 minutes, walk 90 seconds, jog 5 minutes, walk 2-1/2 minutes, jog 3 minutes, walk 90 seconds, jog 5 minutes.

thoughts: yay! i felt such a sense of joy and pride today when i finished. was it hard? yes. did it hurt? yes. but i did it! i don’t know why i was so much more excited today than i was monday, but i was and i’m thrilled about it. tightening my HR chest strap seemed to fix the issue as the monitor worked perfectly today without a single hiccup. of course, when it’s not one thing, it’s another and today’s tech malfunction was that my cardiotrainer app on my phone paused right after i started and didn’t restart until after i had finished running. i use it primarily for distance and pacing, which i was able to mostly figure out using mapmyrun and a little fraction multiplication (see, math is useful!). though it isn’t perfect (i would think i went a tad farther than 3.37 because of the winding road), it worked today.
we’re set to get 6-10 inches of snow tonight, so we’ll see what the rest of the week holds. it won’t be like the big snow last time! i really, thoroughly enjoyed my run today. hopefully i’ll continue to enjoy this!
exciting: i’m halfway there! the program is 9 weeks long and today was halfway through week 4! yay! four weeks ago i could hardly run in 60-second bursts and today i ran for a total of 16 minutes! lots of exclamation points!
