good morning! super bright but chilly day today.
today’s workout (W3D2) from c25k: two repetitions of the following: jog 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds, jog 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes
stats: time 41:47; distance 2.52 miles; calories 397; pace 16:35 (max of 9:12); heartrate average 143, max 178
thoughts: today wasn’t so bad. the first set of jogs was quite uncomfortable, but the second set wasn’t bad. at the end of my jog sets, i wasn’t quite done and wanted to check out my normal route to see if it was runnable, so i added a few more 90 second jog sets, which felt good. unfortunately, my normal route is not runnable–they don’t plow unpaved trails and it doesn’t get enough sun to have melted on its own yet. i’m super disappointed because this severely limits where i can go. my route from sunday was much better (felt like i could go wherever and for how long as i wanted), but requires a five minute drive (which isn’t bad itself, but requires i also carry a license and key). we’re supposed to get some more snow this afternoon, but i have my doubts.
i definitely want to go a minimum of 3 miles every day so that the distance isn’t an issue when i start running more than 3 minutes at a time. i don’t like running on roads, so it looks like driving to my route will make the most sense.
