hello! i hope you had an enjoyable thanksgiving. it was pretty low key around here, as it was just my mother, father, and me, but really nice. i cooked everything for our big meal so i didn’t have a chance to even go for a walk, but that’s okay.
today’s workout (W1D3) from c25k: brisk five-minute warmup walk. then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.
stats: time 1:11:04; distance 4.09 miles; calories 573; pace 17:21 (max of 7:58); heartrate average 132, max 170
thoughts: different route, but similar statistics to wednesday. this route had a lot more hills than the previous route. it’s funny, with vibrams i would much prefer to run uphill than down. my natural inclination is to lengthen stride and heel strike while going downhill. so while it’s more strenuous to run uphill, it’s easier to keep my form (that i’m still trying to figure out). i really want to run more, but don’t want to start off too strong and burn out. so i’m just running on c25k’s schedule. next week it gets harder!
planning: so you’re supposed to spread out your runs. this week i ran monday, wednesday, and friday (my blog is a bit delayed), which seems fine but leaves a big gap for the weekends. i haven’t yet planned anything this weekend, but i’d like to either get out and walk like i did tuesday or do some kind of cardio inside. i’ll keep you updated, but i’m not yet sure what i’ll do.
